There are several factors to keep in mind when writing classified adverts online or offline. If you keep these factors in mind, you can run an effective classifieds campaign.
Classified advertising is a relatively inexpensive way to promote your product or service especially online, so it is a great option for testing and tweaking your ads. However, if you are not testing and improving your online adverts you can waste a lot of time and money.
You should keep these factors in mind,and you can run an effective online classified advertising campaign.
A – What are you selling?
First you need to determine if your product or service can be marketed with classified advertising. So, are the people you are targeting as the ideal prospect likely to be looking out for the wares you want to promote?
B – Where will you run your online advertising campaign?
How many people will read your ad? Who is your ideal customer? Everyone? You can not market to everyone with out a massive budget. You will crash and burn. If you have not profiled an ideal customer, stop and find out more information. Are they young or old? Male or female? Are they likely to be excited about your offering or ignore it?
C – Writing your advertising copy
When you write your ad, remember what you are trying to do:
Catch the readers’ attention and convince them to carry on reading the copy message. Then you have a call to action in the message to order, subscribe, visit a blog etc. Research indicates that some web surfers are more impatient than ever. Will your message hold them still and encourage them to take action?
D – Test, test, and test again
Once you start a classified advertising campaign, whether offline or on the internet, test your ads to perfect them. This involves removing what does not work, and improving what does work. However, even when you are prepared, not all online advertising or classified advertising in papers/magazines will be successful.
You need to remember that even with the lowest estimate we are all subject to bombardment of many messages daily. So, invest time to craft headlines that hypnotise. The most basic emotions of greed and fear will never go away. We can never be thin enough, young enough or rich enough in whatever degree each desire means to us personally.
